The Series 4117 AC Power Controller is a fully contained power switching device that accepts either a voltage or milliamp current control signal and provides 2-leg, 3-phase switching. The 4117 is also suited for certain single-phase applications. The control signal input can be either voltage or current. The voltage signal input range of 8 to 48 Vdc provides ON-OFF control. This voltage control signal can be from any other controller providing 8 to 48 Vdc. The 4 to 20 mA current signal can be from any OMEGA™ proportional or PID output controller. The 4117 is a zero-crossover switching device which means that ON/OFF switching takes place near the zero-crossover point of the ac cycle. This eliminates any appreciable electrical noise. The 4117 incorporates inverse parallel SCR output devices which provide highly reliable, noise immune circuitry for longer life and higher loads than can be obtained from triacs.
