DATASHUTTLE EXPRESS - DS-EXP is not found under Windows 95, but is found with DTEST in DOS. Port type is ECP or SPP

CAUSE 1: ECP or SPP port is not found by Windows 95. DATASHUTTLE Express is only found if the LPT is listed in the System|Device Manager. Problem is commund under Windows 95.

SOLUTION: Add printer port to System Device Manager in Windows 95.

1. Click START
2. Select SETTINGS
3. Select CONTROL PANEL
4. Select ADD NEW HARDWARE
5. Select NO to SEARCH FOR NEW HARDWARE
6. Select PORTS (COM & LPT)
7. Select PRINTER PORT (we don't recommend selecting ECP port, even if you have and ECP port)
8. Click FINISH


CAUSE 2: Printer port conflict. A conflict with another device I/O address (Input/Output Range), DMA or Interrupt.

SOLUTION: Conflicts can be found in the Conflicting Device List in Windows 95. Solving them can be complicated. Call Technical Support for your PC or the vendors of the conflicting devices if you need help.
